USS Davis was on patrol with USS PLUNKETT off the Normandy Beachhead, when PLUNKETT opened fire on HMCS TRENTONIAN and the cablelayer, HMTS Monarch on 13 June 1944. DAVIS sent her doctor to TRENTONIAN to assist with Monarch’s wounded. Photo was taken from TRENTONIAN the morning after the incident, off the Normandy beachhead.
