USS Davis was on patrol with USS PLUNKETT off the Normandy Beachhead, when PLUNKETT opened fire on HMCS TRENTONIAN and the cablelayer, HMTS Monarch on 13 June 1944. Landing Ship USS LST-376 sails past HMCS MAYFLOWER off the Normandy beachhead on 7 June 1944.
