Sailors from HMCS TRENTONIAN enjoy shore leave in Cherbourg, FR. just after the port was liberated. Most of the pedestrian and street traffic is military, few civilians are wandering the streets of Cherbourg as can be seen in this photo with US soldiers, sailors and WACS on the sidewalk.
