HMCS QUINTE has been patched and refloated after striking Horse Head Rock in Cape Breton, ten days earlier on 30 November 1942. She will be towed to the wall of St. Peter’s Canal to stabilize the ship. QUINTE’s stretch of bad luck is not quite over as she will roll onto her beam ends and sink in the canal while salvage operations continued.
