In 2018 HMCS SACKVILLE underwent an extensive refit to it’s hull, adding additional steel plating below the waterline. This work will ensure the preservation of the last corvette for many years. Thank you to the members of the Fleet Maintenance Facility, CAPE SCOTT and Canada’s Naval Memorial Trust for a fascinating day with HMCS SACKVILLE. The corvette towers some 40 feet above me.
