Wm Black from HMCS WASAGA still preferred a nap in his hammock compared to the beds provided at the HMC NAVAL CAMP in 1942. The rest camp was provided for sailors of the escort groups to have a break away from shipboard routine and was located seven miles outside of St. John’s, NF.
