On April 29, 2011 Roger’s book Warships of the Bay of Quinte was officially launched at The Victory building, home of the Archives and Collections Society in Picton, Ontario.
Activities commenced at 1 pm with a brief welcome by the host Dr. Paul Adamthwaite. Beth Bruder, Vice-President of Dundurn Publishing then spoke on behalf of the publishing firm.

During the opening ceremony, Roger (right) was able to thank Henry Winsor (centre) for his painting, used on the cover of Warships of the Bay of Quinte. At the same time Henry donated his latest painting to Paul Adamthwaite (left) and the Archives and Collections Society. The new painting on the left is of HMCS HALLOWELL and the painting on the right is HMCS NAPANEE, used as the cover for the book and on loan from the Marine Museum of The Great Lakes in Kingston.
Roger Litwiller then addressed the almost 100 guests and was able to personally thank Hank Winsor, the artist who provided the painting of HMCS NAPANEE for the cover of his book. Hank Winsor’s original painting was on display for all to see. Mr Winsor then presented his latest painting to The Victory of HMCS HALLOWELL.
During the course of the afternoon Roger was able to sign 46 books and spend time with each person.
Hillier Creek Estates Winery was present to provide a wonderful sampling of their exquisite wines courtesy of Kemp and Amber Stewart.
Roger would like to express his thanks to everyone that attended the launch of Warships of the Bay of Quinte.

The first copy of Warships Of The Bay Of Quinte to be signed at the book launch was for an old friend, Bob Helm has worked with Roger on many incidents, Bob as an OPP Officer and Roger as a Paramedic.

Roger had the support of many friends and family. Roger’s daughter, Cyndi and her friend Vince stop at the table.
