Part of my research for my books has included interviewing our Royal Canadian Navy Veterans. From these gallant men and women, I have gathered a sizable collection of personal photos taken during their service. These exceptional pictures show what was important to our sailors and give a unique perspective to the history of the Canadian Navy as compared to the established Official Photos.
This amazing collection continues to grow, ranging from the early days of WWII to the present. Any past or present member of the RCN or veterans families can contribute, all original photos are returned. I also transfer digital copies of these photos to several naval museums in Canada, so others can benefit from this collection.
For details and captions for these photos, please see the RCN PHOTO of the Day page.
