HMCS TRENTONIAN had a relatively short career in her commission. Â Just fifteen months from the time she was commissioned into the RCN at Kingston, Ontario until she was torpedoed in the English Channel. Â During that time her compliment was maintained at 90 to over 100 sailors.
Many RCN ships suffered from transfers of personnel. A single convoy escort job was considered to have given a green crew “experience” and the new-experienced sailors would then be moved to other newly commissioned ships. Â TRENTONIAN was fortunate, in she maintained over 55 % of her original crew for the duration of her commission.
