I have been able to complete the scenery in the Trenton Yard on my layout.
Not the best picture of the yard but it does give an good overview of the scenery. I have posted earlier blogs on the steps I have taken to this point.
Once ballasting was complete, I added gravel for roadways, woodland scenics grasses in three separate colors. I then randomly added a variety of trees in different heights, along with shrubs.
The track, ballast and gravel have been weathered with pastel powders and an assortment of old oil drums, ties, broken rail, sandbags, garbage, etc has been scattered throughout the yard.
Drainage grates were added in lower locations. (see my earlier blog –Storm Drains That Can Be Placed Anywhere -A DIY Project)
I still have to finish with level crossings, people and signage. The outer edge of the layout has been left unfinished, I will attached the fascia before completing this area.
I’m back to running some trains again, just in time for Christmas.
